re. porter

c. 2012 — 2018

An online consignment store for discerning avant-garde collectors

I launched re. porter in 2012 as an independent, tile-based online consignment platform — an early forerunner to platforms like Grailed and Shopify. The goal was to create a more personal, conversation-driven alternative to automated online retail

Approach,

Working with a single developer, I designed and directed every element of the experience — UX/UI, photography, brand identity, merchandising, and client communication. The platform had no shopping cart — customers inquired directly through product pages and received personal replies and invoices, fostering a slower, relationship-based mode of commerce

Results,

Through re. porter, I established a loyal international clientele of discerning customers and consignors through high-touch communication and strong brand identity

The credibility and recognition afforded me via this first project, allowed me to secure direct vendor relationships at Paris market week, later leveraged in Calculus - my first retail store

Relevance,

re. porter demonstrated my ability to conceptualize and manage every stage of a retail operation — from creative design and direction, to distribution, logistics, and customer relations & brand partnerships
